Some things I love:
Climbing mountains and getting to experience the edges of my mental and physical abilities. I like being rewarded by a feeling of awe, accomplishment, and connection when I reach the top.
Getting lost in foreign cities and finding my way because a stranger who took the time to help me even if we didn't speak the same language.
Being silly, and inspiring sillieness and spontenaitey in others. I like running naked through rainstorms with friends, starting dance parties on mountain tops, and dressing up in costumes without a reason.
Filling the arrivals terminal of an airport with music that makes other travelers stop and stare and maybe sing along.
Bombing down a ski slope or performing for a crowd and feeling rush of excitement and fear that follows.
Having difficult discussions with groups of people who have opinions that are different from each other.
Experiencing the mental stillness that comes from quietly creating art or working with my hands.
Slaughtering a chicken or hunting a rabbit and feeling the difficulty and strong emotions of such a challenge.
Skinny dipping in ice cold glacial runoff and jumping into the ocean on winter days.
Directing my education and having the ability to create and find learning environments that excite and inspire me.
I continue to to seek experiences like these and many others with the hope of becoming more fully alive and whole, and helping others to find their own aliveness and wholeness as well.
